Drupal Camp Chicago
This past weekend I was able to attend Drupal Camp Chicago with several friends. While I was hoping for a lot more hands on application and instruction, I still learned a substantle amount and was able to reaffirm some of the progress I am have already made. Many of the sessions addressed developments skills I had just learned over the course of this semester, and some even addressed topics that I delved into for the first time this week. There are many benefits that are yet to come as I look to implement these new skills into my workflow, and more fully explore the topics covered.
Press Release Centered Design
While I was making my normal rounds through my never ending RSS feeds, I stumbled accross an article about the development and design process, and it really struck as profound. The article advocates a process of working backwards, such that you begin the creative process by creating the press release for your product that describes the key features and distinguishing features, and then work backwards to create a product that fulfulls those goals. I hope to implement this process in a future project, and perhaps the upcoming semester will bring such an opportunity.
